Yarn Easter Eggs

March 20, 2013 by Chris

Can you believe that you can make Yarn Easter Eggs?  Yes, you can! One of my favorite art projects as a kid was making paper maché, putting layer upon layer of sticky newspaper strips over a balloon. This project reminds me of those fun filled days of yore!  This DIY Yarn Easter Eggs idea has been shared on Pinterest a few times, so I decided to share the fun here, as well! It is such a simple Easter craft to do using Mod Podge as the glue. Once the yarn has dried, these Yarn Easter Eggs can be strung together with access yarn. What a CUTE Easter garland this would make! It could be hung among the trees, on a fireplace mantle, or along the front porch. They could be used as prize eggs in the big Easter egg hunt by putting candy or dollar bills inside the balloons prior to blowing them up.  When the balloon is thoroughly covered and dried (such that the goodies can fall out), the popped balloon will leave the treasure inside the Yarn Easter Eggs.!

These could simply be placed in a pretty bowl as a table centerpiece, as well. Don’t forget to use a variety of eye catching colors to make the Easter egg hunt “eggs” citing! Personalize these to your liking by paper machéing Easter pictures or messages to the eggs.
