Old Sewing Pattern Tissue Flower

September 14, 2015 by Chris

I decided to make the size of my strips in a 10″ by 10″ square. Place the layers in an even stack. It’s important to make sure that the stack is even. If you don’t do this, the folding process with get messy!

Begin to fold these layered strips or square back and forth in about a 1/2 inch width, accordion style. Keep folding back and forth until you have a complete 1/2 inch strip.

Once you have the entire strip or square folded, tie a pipe cleaner, twist tie or wire in the center of the strip. Zip or twist tie it down all of the way, so that it’s tight on the paper.

As you can see in this photo, I used a small zip tie. It worked pretty well, as I used the thin, zip tie part that was left over to attach to the stem with the tape.
