Fabric Bleach Art is a DIY craft project. It requires using a pencil to apply some bleach to fabric. Believe it or not, this pencil will NOT be used to write in this project, it will be used to erase! Color will not be applied to the fabric. Color will be removed in order to create your own designs! There are other tools that can be used to create different artistic effects. Q-tips, toothpicks, or art paint brushes could be used to acquire beautiful effects. When the tips of these tools are dipped into bleach, then carefully applied to fabric, the results will appear within minutes.
It is suggested to experiment on an old, colored t-shirt. It’s a good idea to practice your techniques. When you feel ready, create your own custom fabric treasures. Remember, you are working with bleach! Bleach is not forgiving, so use it with great caution. The following tutorial is an example of using Fabric Bleach Art on 4th of July themed table napkins from Paula Deen. Go check out the detailed instructions!
