DIY Firefly Lamp

August 23, 2013 by Chris

I found this clever lamp project over at Casa De Colorir and immediately knew it was my next project. (fly on over to check out more pics) Although the directions for DIY Firefly Lamp are in Spanish, the craft itself is pretty simple. This is a great recycle project that provides really cool lighting! You’re going to take a tin can (the coffee tins with plastic lids are perfect), remove the label, and use a Sharpie to map out where you want to drill your holes. It can be completely random or you can create a pattern.

After drilling your holes, spray paint it to match your room’s decor, or just leave it the way it is for a more industrial feel. Fill the can with flashing Christmas lights and let the cord hang out of the back of the lid. If you use indoor/outdoor lights, this would make some amazing back porch lighting! DIY Firefly Lamp is a low cost project and it is, oh so easy!
